Trauma care- essential element of recovery

Trauma care is an essential element of recovery. In general trauma is mild to severe injury or wound caused by accident or violence to the person, which needs surgical therapy or treatment. Traumatology deals with the wound assessments, nature of wound, its level, treatment procedures, and damage caused to local tissues and cells. Basically trauma is an accident, referring to unexpected, unfortunate event. Disability or death from injury or an unpreventable accident. Major trauma is any injury that can potentially lead to severe complications. Depending on the severity the surgical procedures will be followed.

Mostly, trauma cases will be registered under the emergency department, which includes specific medicine involving care for patients with unscheduled illness and injuries . Trauma care requires a person expertise in the diagnosis, prevention and treatments, management of illness complications etc. Most trauma care involves emergency persons specifically working in all shifts, as they occur unscheduled and undifferentiated. The wound identification involves a physical evaluation as well as use of tools to determine  the  type of injury accurately and to formulate a course of treatment.

The condition of a person, who have been subjected to multiple traumatic injuries, such as a serious download (1)head injury in addition to serious burns must be attended by Trauma surgeons immediately, without any negligence. Trauma surgeons must be familiar with a large variety of general surgical, thoracic, and vascular procedures and must be able to make complex decisions, often with little time and incomplete information. The primary aim of the trauma care is to improve the health condition of the trauma victim, which can be achieved by having better knowledge of trauma management.

The three elements: Human Resources (staffing & training), Physical Resources (infrastructure, equipment & supply) and Process (organisation & administration) play a vital role in trauma care. Proper management of these three resources can get the trauma victim to active life. A better care for trauma would be making people aware about it as disease, promoting trauma education at all levels world wide etc.
